Oh my gosh!

Stella and I were browsing the most recent renovation flickr pictures over the weekend. There was one photo that showed a particularly wide angle of the foundation and the ripped apart house, studs and guts fully exposed. Stella paused, looked up at me and said "Oh my gosh, what did we do this for!?" I tried my best to explain it to her but somehow I don't think she was buying it.

Mommy's Work

Stella awoke this morning and told me that "Mommy is at work." to which of course she was. She then proceeded to tell me that "Mommy works at Costco." I hope that Mommy is enjoying her new job at Costco. I am worried how she'll balance work at both Cisco and Costco.

Sock Rescue

While walking to the bus this morning I looked down to see this tiny, cold, wet and shivering sock. Just a single sock, separated from his twin. Then it struck me...it's Addie's sock. It must have jumped overboard on their walk yesterday. I picked up the limp and scared sock and warmed him in my hands. Boy, was he happy to see me. I'm certain it will be a tearful reunion this evening.

Both Girls in the Same Cart - First Time

Craziness @ the Row

I'm glad to be a working mom! Did I say that? Yes I did! I'm sitting here realizing how lucky I am to be a working Mom. I mean I get the best of all worlds. I get to see my kids all the time and have a great job. Today there is the hustle and bustle of trick or treating at Santana Row. Crazy Mom's with every stroller imaginable push their ways from store to store to get free goodies. I think to myself...wow they all look crazy. Some looks stressed, dazed, tired, some look like June Cleaver. They all lug diaper bags, carry screaming kids, snotty faced, drooly one tooth laughing kids around...I just think...wow. I am lucky!! I wouldn't survive all of this ciaos on a regular basis.

Happy HALLOWEEN @ Santana Row

Addie and me are sitting at our not so favorite coffee shop at the row. We came to trick or treat, but we have opted out. This place is Crazy!!! We found a safe spot in the window.

The X-Ray

Yeap, without a doubt it's broken. The doctor said at her age this will heal and straighten out on it's own. Cast on for 2 weeks and then good as new!!

Gravity Wins

I've heard that at some point in your child's growth they will learn how to climb out of their crib. Well, for Stella, that day was yesterday October 17, 2007. I think she mastered the climbing part but gravity got the best of her. Stella's forearm broke the fall and the fall broke her forearm. We weren't sure if it was a sprain or a fracture until I took her to Good Sam's ER today. Inbetween playing hide'n'seek with the doctors and nurses and telling people "it's broken", the experts were able to ascertain that she had a fracture. Amazingly, she didn't mind the whole hospital experience and even walked herself down the halls to the x-ray room (who needs a gurney when you're 22 months old). This shot shows the beginnings of the temporary splint. We have an appointment with the orthopedic doctor on Monday for the real deal - a cast. Mommy has put in her request for Pink or Black. I think Pink will be better for signing.

Pardon Me

I was driving to pick Susan up last week and had both girls in minimo. I said something to Stella which she didn't quite hear. Her response was "pardon me". Hoping this politeness carries on into her teens.

Saturday Swim & Snack

Saturday is swim day for Stella and Addie. We all know that Stella loves the water and we hope that Addie loves the water as much as her big sister. This is Addie's second session and is going great! Stella's session starts at 11:15 and Addie goes in at 11:45. Stella gets so excited to get dressed because we go inside and get a snack. Today her pick was a banana.

Stella's first sushi!

She tells us "I love this!"...she gobbled up a california roll and some pickled ginger! MMMM. who's going to get the last piece now?

Sweet Sunday in Los Gatos

What would a stroll down North Santa Cruz be without a stop at our favorite sweet shop. It's not stroller friendly so Daddy and Addie wait out front.

Los Gatos Farmers Market

Stella loves the flowers at the farmers market.

Sparkler Art Appreciation

Sparkler Art

Stella loves sparklers. Mommy is sparkler painting while Stella watches in amazement. Shortly after, we asked Stella what these are called...see for yourself

Fergie

Fergie

Stella loves to watch music vids. When we turn on VH1 Jumpstart Stella says "Fergie". Well guess what, the first video out of the box was Fergie. Stella asked me to move her chair out so she could sit down and sway to the music. Rock on Stella!!

A Whole New Appreciation

Last night I attempted to do the simple task of getting the girls ready to goto Bryan's going away party. The twist was that I did this solo. Forty minutes of scurrying about, double checking and loading up the stroller later, I hit the road. Later that evening I realized I had forgotten the formula. My hat is off to anyone raising two young kids on their own. It's a ton of work, but well worth it!

Uncle Johnny is the Best

The Red Hat Gang

Stella doesn't like wearing a hat. Addie doesn't mind, but that may change as she ages. This is a rare photograph of both girls wearing matching hats simultaneously. Off to the park...yipee!!

Hats On

Presents from Papa

"Thank you papa."

'2'

Stella finally said two. For the longest time it was one-three. Tonight she said "two" on the way home from Aqui's. Nicely done!

Monkeys Zebras Giraffes and Bears

We had a great time at the zoo today. Stella and Addie saw polar bears, grizzly bears, lions, tigers, lemurs and one huge rhino. The topper was a carousel ride at the end...so much fun that Stella had to ride twice. Back on the road now with both babies sleeping.

Flossy Flossy

Stella's dental hygiene is developing at a very early age. She loves to floss. If daddy flosses, Stella flosses. This morning she ran all the way into the bathroom looking for floss.

Flossy Flossy

Big Breath, Eyes In

Stella started swim lessons in July 2006. She's a natural and loves the water. Her sister starts lessons in 2 weeks. Water babies unite!!

I Spin

I think Stella's concept of the words "one more" is more like "again". Spinning is one of her favorite hobbies.

What's My Nickname?

I'm changing Stella today and she's mumbling something back at me through her purple pacifier. I tell her to take the "paci" out so that I can understand her. Stella looks back at me and says, "P-Jelly". This is the nickname that we've been calling her for over a year. She now knows her nickname.

8:40

So, the other morning I put Stella's new aquarium watch on her and she's looking all proud. I ask her, "Stella, what time is it?", thinking I wouldn't get much of a response. She looks up at me and yells, "It's eight forty!!!". Just way too funny.

What did she say?

Stella is talking up a storm. Her vocabulary has increased tremendously! We don't have anyone to compare her to, but for 20 months...we are impressed and that is all that matters!!

"Mommy, I'm making coffee!" Of course she only makes Peet's!
"Mommy, I see the truck."
"Daddy going to work on the bus"
"Mommy's car" "Daddy's bus" You didn't know Robert owned one did you?
"Addie sleeping...shhhh" this is followed by a high pitched...."Hi Addie!" (hint, hint...she is trying to wake her up) "Addie's awake!.....HI, HI"
"I'm picking weeds"
She loves to take the garbage out too!! She says, "Stella help" or "I come" as Stella and Daddy collect the garbage and recyclables from the house.
Stella is a wonderful sharer. She says..."some" if she wants to share or "Stella some" if she wants what you have.

Want a laugh? Come by for a visit!!

Halloween is coming...

What are you going to bee?

Here's Stella!!

Here's Addie!!

She's right behind you!

Addison went in for her 6 month check up and everything is great! She is growing like a weed. Addie is pretty much at the same stage as Stella was. We go for our 9 month check up and a 2 year check up in December. Stay tuned!!
